Polk-Burnett Electric Cooperative will hold its 83rd annual meeting for members Friday, June 11, at 1 p.m. The meeting will be online.

“We invite co-op members to attend from the comfort and safety of your home,” said General Manager Steve Stroshane. This past year, we focused on keeping the lights on for our members, ensuring a safe work environment to keep co-op employees healthy and on the job, and doing the right thing to support our communities and prevent the spread of COVID-19. These goals and your safety remain our top priority. We thank you for your membership and hope you can join us online June 11.

The annual meeting agenda includes a state of the cooperative report by General Manager Steve Stroshane, results of the 2021 board election in co-op districts 7, 8 and 9, and a Q&A forum where members can voice comments and ask questions. The meeting will also include bylaw amendments on director qualifications and annual meetings. Polk-Burnett Board President Ed Gullickson will call the meeting to order at 1 p.m.

“We look forward to gathering with co-op members each year,” said Gullickson. “The online format worked very well last year; 198 members and guests logged in and engagement was lively during the Q&A forum. Polk-Burnett’s annual meeting is an important way for co-op members, directors and employees to connect. We invite you to attend our 83rd annual meeting to learn about co-op performance and provide your feedback. We are always looking to improve our service to our members and community.”

Registration for Polk-Burnett’s annual meeting is open now for co-op members on polkburnett.com. Once registered, an invitation link will be emailed to members to join the meeting June 11. No special software is required, but attendees will need an up-to-date computer or smart device with audio and an internet connection.

All members who attend will be entered into a drawing for a $50 electric bill credit; 10 will be awarded.

For members who can't attend online June 11, the annual meeting will be recorded for viewing at a later date. Printed reports will also be available upon request following the meeting.

“We also hope to host a Member Appreciation Day at our Centuria office later this summer when it’s safe to gather in large groups again,” added Gullickson. “Our annual meeting has transitioned to an online event, but we know there is still something special about meeting in person. Watch for details in your Powerlines newsletter, and on the co-op’s website and Facebook page.”
