Polk-Burnett Electric Cooperative wants to help members determine if the installation of Distributed Energy Resources may be a good fit for you and your property. Distributed Energy Resources, DER, are all types of generation and energy resources that can interconnect to the cooperative's electric distribution system, including but not limited to solar (photovoltaic), wind or battery storage. For answers to your questions and things you should consider before making an investment, please review the resources below.
Requirements for DER Systems
- Complete the DER Application
- Application fees apply
- Provide a certificate of liability insurance naming Polk-Burnett as certificate holder (systems 20 kW or less) or additionally insured (systems greater than 20 kW)
- Install and label an electric disconnect switch that is accessible to utility line personnel
- Return Electrical Inspection Certificate from a commercial electrical inspector
- Complete and return the DER Interconnection Requirement
- Contact Polk-Burnett when system installation is complete and you're ready to schedule the interconnection test
- Commissioning fees apply
- Bi-directional meter installed for net metering purposes
