Energy Efficiency & Conservation
Electricity connects us to the modern world. Consider all the conveniences we enjoy because co-op power runs to your home. Count your TVs, computers, gaming systems and chargers. Next, look around your kitchen: From your coffee maker to the toaster, microwave and dishwasher, we’ve all added appliances to improve our life. And what about power tools in your garage?
All these devices run on efficient electricity from your co-op. Let's work together to save energy and money, while protecting our planet.
Local Solar
SunTuria Solar is the first utility-scale solar in our service territory. It was dedicated in 2017 in Centuria (Polk County, WI).
Georgetown Solar was energized in 2023 east of Balsam Lake (Polk County, WI).
Both arrays are dual-purpose spaces, providing clean energy at a fixed rate to benefit local co-op members, as well as habitat for pollinators.
Drive Electric
Electrification is the biggest change to come to the automotive world in 100 years! EVs have environmental advantages and can help members save money through reduced fuel and maintenance costs.
Moving from gas to electricity reduces pollution, and the gap improves as the electric grid gets greener.
Polk-Burnett supports EV owners with charger rebates and off-peak rates.
