Central A/C and Heat Pump Rebates
All central air conditioners and air source heat pumps are eligible for the following rebates and participation in load management on the main meter.
Central air conditioner & Mini Split >= 14 SEER (EER 11) $40/ton
Central air conditioner & Mini Split >= 15 SEER (EER 12) $60/ton
Central air conditioner & Mini Split >= 16 SEER (EER 13) $80/ton
Air source heat pumps >= 14 SEER $120/ton
Ground water heat pumps are allowed on the off peak rate if the system has a fossil fuel or storage back up heat system and the ground source heat pump is controlled through load management.
Ground source heat pumps $200/ton
Summer controlling of A/C and heat pump units is a process of cycling the unit every 15 minutes during the hottest days of the year, typically during the evening hours, but can occur any time of the day. Winter controlling of the air source heat pump is rare since the unit is typically done providing heat for the winter season prior to the need for demand controlling. Winter controlling of ground source heat pumps will be up to 6 hours at any given time during a peak control period. For more information regarding load control click here.
Please fill out the A/C – heat pump rebate form and include the necessary paperwork. Please submit rebate claims as soon as possible and NO LATER than January 3, 2011. Once the unit is controlled we will issue you a one-time rebate in the form of a check. (return to top)
